Enzoology:

Pete Monfre of Enzoology Education:

As 11-year-old Enzo Monfre discovered at a young age, relentless curiosity can lead to some pretty amazing adventures. In fact, it was his creative vision that launched his family’s educational media company Enzoology Education five years ago.

Young Enzo’s goal? To make science fun and relatable with a “kids-teaching-kids” approach.

In keeping with his mission, Exploration Nation, Enzoology’s first series addition to Learn360, aims to change the way science is taught at the elementary and middle-school levels by showing the natural world through the eyes of Enzo himself–who’s been hosting the program since he was 7-years-old.

In a sea of science content, what sets Exploration Nation apart? We caught up with Enzo’s father Pete Monfre about how his son brewed up the show’s concept, how peer-teaching makes a big impact, and where in the world the series is headed next.

Q&A with the Producer:
What is the story of Enzoology? What’s something people might not know about Enzoology? What can kids, teachers and parents expect next from Enzoology?

"The creative concept behind Enzoology was put forth in 2007 by my son Enzo when he was only 7 years old. The project began as a website and series of online videos about various science topics and has since matured into a growing digital curriculum model for the classroom or home. Although we’ve journeyed from informal science to supplemental and formal curriculum, we’ve remained completely faithful to Enzo’s initial vision: a series hosted by a kid, for kids."

"What’s especially unique about Enzoology is that Enzo, our first host and creator, owns a significant portion of the company! Although he’s a natural in front of the camera, he also works behind the scenes to make the series as relatable and appealing to kids as possible."

"We’re looking forward to “The Physics of Super Cars”, an exciting segment showcasing how Ferrari wins races applying the principles of physics and how movie stunt drivers leverage science. Enzoology is also headed to Costa Rica and Nicaragua to work directly alongside surgeons and doctors to deliver aid. Enzo’s upcoming adventures are nothing if not adventurous—and he’ll even have some new hosts joining him soon!"
